Report of WHPA Abuja Workshop on Safe Medicines |
|
The World Health Professional Alliance (WHPA) in collaboration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) organized a two day workshop on Safe Medicines which was held in Abuja, Nigeria from 22nd to 23rd November, 2010. Tanzania was one of the 13 African countries invited to attend this workshop.
The Medical Association of Tanzania (MAT) represented by the president Dr Edith Ngirwamungu reported on the current efforts being undertaken by government on combating counterfeit drugs through the TFDA and other relevant stakeholders. Details on operation Mamba III can be found on www.tfda.or.tz
Tanzania joined other countries in a call for action against counterfeit medicines which are claiming innocent lives.
